In this segment, we will look at 1915 film Birth of A Nation. This film had a significant social impact across the Nation. It was released to much despair among the African American communities, with its focal point demonstrating the hardships facing southern whites during the Reconstruction period. The viewpoint of the film is derived from the old Confederacy lens, vilifying blacks as brutes, buffoons, and rapists while glorifying the Klan.
